LEGACY OF ALICE T. LARSEN
LEGACY OF ALICE T. LARSEN

The Manitou Singers 1957-1983

Alice T. Larsen (1929-2004) was a professor of music at St. Olaf College from 1955-1989. She was conductor of the Manitou Singers, taught voice, vocal pedagogy and occasionally directed the St. Olaf Choir. The contents of this album were collected and assembled by the Minnesota chapter of the American Choral Directors Association to raise funds for a scholarship benefiting female choral conductors studying at the graduate level. This audio is taken from performances from 1957 to 1983 and the recording quality will reflect the technology of that time.
