FAITH
FAITH

During the 1996-97 concert season, the St. Olaf Band, under direction of Timothy Mahr, performed a variety of works providing witness to the saving grace of Christian faith. The season's highlight was the premier of Faith, a powerfully eloquent work by Andrew Boysen, Jr. that centers on Gods's omnipresence and omnipotence within a Christian's life. Written for the band's performance at the 1997 American Bandmasters Association National Convention, Faith subsequently has received great critical acclaim.

1. Fanfare og Koral -- Egil Hovland
2. Faith -- Andrew Boysen, Jr.
3. Fantasia Variations on Eternal Alleluias -- Daniel Kallman
4. Round Me Falls the Night from Hymns and Responses for the Church Year, Op. 68 (Vol. 1, No. 2), -- Vincent Persichetti, ed. Timothy Mahr
5. Allerseelen, Op. 10, No. 8 -- Richard Strauss, setting Albert Davis, ed. Frederick Fennell
6. Ballet Sacra -- David Holsinger
7. The Alcotts from The Concord Sonata -- Charles Ives, ed. Richard Thurston
8. Zion -- Dan Welcher
